Courteney Cox hits back at Kanye West after he says Friends wasn't funny

Courteney Cox has made clear her shock and disapproval after Kanye West shared an Instagram post admitting he didn't think Friends was funny.

As one of the most successful and long-running sitcoms out there, it's no secret Friends was a hit. People still continue to laugh at Chandler's jokes and Joey's cluelessness almost 20 years after the show came to an end, but this week Kanye emphasised that he is not one of those people.

His revelation came in a since-deleted Instagram post in which he tried to set the record straight about some of his past tweets, claiming they hadn't all been written by him. At first it looked like the rapper might announce himself as a fan of Friends, but it didn't turn out that way.

With Kanye's track 'Heartless' playing in the background, Cox filmed herself coming across Kanye's post which began 'this was not from me'.

"Someone copied my style of text and wrote something not funny," he continued. "I know you guys gonna be disappointed but I actually didn't write the teeet [sic] that said 'Friends wasn't funny either'."

If Kanye's sentence had ended there, it might have actually been quite a nice redemption implying that he didn't agree with the tweet about Friends. Unfortunately, however, it didn't end there.

He added: "But I wish I had I'd love to know who thought of that."

The comment went on, but that was all Cox needed to see. She zoomed in on the words 'Friends wasn't funny' while raising her eyebrows in shock, before abruptly walking over to her speakers and cutting Kanye's music off without a second thought.

Alongside the video, she wrote: "I bet the old Kayne thought Friends was funny [sad face]."

Kanye's revelation is just one of a series of claims he's made on Instagram recently, when he returned to discuss his business ventures before turning his attention to his family and apparent 'addiction' to porn.

“Don’t let Kris [Jenner] make you do playboy like she made [Kylie Jenner] and Kim do,” he wrote in another since-deleted post. "Hollywood is a giant brothel Pornography destroyed my family I deal with the addiction Instagram promotes it. Not gonna let it happen to Northy and Chicago," he added.

Kanye hasn't responded to Cox's reaction video; instead his most recent post shows him hugging his children and claiming they have 'no idea what daddy has gone through this past few days alone'.

Kanye West has blamed his porn addiction for ruining his family.

In a series of now-deleted Instagram posts uploaded on Thursday (1 September), the rapper also hit out at the Kardashians, sharing screengrabs of a text message exchange supposedly between himself and Kim.

Ye denied that his mental health was spiralling, insisting he was simply expressing ‘undeniable truths’.

Sharing a photo of Kylie Jenner’s former assistant, Victoria Villarroel, Kanye wrote: “Don’t let Kris make you do playboy like she made [Kylie] and Kim do.”

He added: “Hollywood is a giant brothel Pornography destroyed my family I deal with the addiction instagram promotes it Not gonna let it happen to Northy and Chicago.” [sic]

He kicked off his series of posts by referencing the school his kids go to, saying: “My kids going to Donda. They not going to Sierra Canyon. Charlemagne the God and Kris. get your motherf*****g popcorn.” [sic]

Ye then posted a screengrab of a text where the Skims founder allegedly asked: “Can you please stop?”

He responded: “No. We need to talk in person. You don’t have say so of where the kids go to school. Why you get say say? Cause you half white?” [sic]

In another screengrab, Kim appeared to relay a message from Kris which read: “Please tell him to please stop mentioning my name. I’m almost 67 years old and I don’t always feel great and this stresses me to no end.”

Ye fired back: “Yall don’t have so so over my black children and where they go to school.”

The 'Gold Digger' hitmaker also told critics to ‘shut the f**k up’ and ‘worry about their own kids’ while insisting his recent posts weren’t indicative of a decline in his mental health.

“Today is about control,” penned Ye, adding: “I am dealing with wars at the highest levels of control and discrimination based on the level I am operating at.”

He continued: “A conductor gotta turn they back to the audience to direct the orchestra. Oh Ye crazy Is basic as f**k at this point I’m simply right I know girls who sell p***y that don’t agree with how my daughters are displayed.

“I was driven crazy before, I’m not going crazy no more. It’s not up to Calabasas or Hulu where my kids go to school. I’m not the crazy one here. I won’t stop until I have a say so on my kids no matter what it legally takes.”

Kim Kardashian Hits Out At Kanye West's 'Narrative' On Instagram

Kim Kardashian has hit out at Kanye West's 'narrative' over their children.

The pair married in 2014 and have four children together – North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint – but Kardashian filed for divorce last February, and it was finalised earlier this month.

Now, Kanye – who changed his name to Ye – is claiming he's being denied access to his kids.

In a post on Instagram, the 44-year-old said: 'This was on my daughter's back pack when I was 'allowed' to see her last week.

'This is why I go so hard for my family I am wired to protect my family at all cost. As the priest of my home. Don't worry Northy God is still alive.'

But 41-year-old Kardashian rubbished his post.

Commenting on the photo, she said: 'Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.'

It's the latest development in a public falling out that is getting a little ugly.

Kardashian is now dating 28-year-old comedian Pete Davidson, who has also been targeted online by Kanye, and has seemingly had enough of it.

The Saturday Night Live comedian doesn’t air his feelings on social media, but it seems as if he’s given leave to a friend – fellow comedian Dave Sirus – to publish some of the alleged exchanges he's had with West, including one where he asks the musician to 'grow the f*** up'.

In the now-deleted screenshots, Davidson allegedly texted Ye: "Yo it's Skete. Can you please take a second and calm down. It’s 8am and it don't gotta be like this."

Obviously, you shouldn't believe every deleted screenshot you see on the internet, but Page Six claims to have knowledge that the messages are genuine.

The messages went on: 'Kim is literally the best mother I've ever met. What she does for those kids is amazing and you are so f***ing lucky that she's your kids' mom, I've decided I'm not gonna let you treat us this way anymore and I'm done being quiet.

Davidson has been dating Kardashian for a short while now amid her increasingly strange and acrimonious divorce from West.

In the screenshots, West responded: 'Oh you using profanity. Where are you right now?'

Then, things escalated quickly, with Davidson responding with a selfie that was captioned: 'In bed with your wife.'

Kanye West has opened up about the one lyric he wrote which he instantly knew would make him famous.

West - now formally known as Ye - has had a rocky road with fame.

He first entered the spotlight as a result of his music career, followed by his record label and fashion collaboration with Adidas.

More controversially, though, the 45-year-old's political views and personal life have also come under scrutiny, particularly after his marriage to - and later divorce from - Kim Kardashian.

West has since revealed when he first knew he would be famous and it's all apparently down to one single lyric.

In an interview with James Corden as part of a '300,000-foot Carpool Karaoke' while on his way to his Sunday Service choir in October 2019, the rapper opened up about finding fame and the moment he knew his life would change forever.

Ye said he recalls being in a Virgin Megastore on an escalator when he had the revelation.

He continued: "I remember saying, 'Breathe in this moment, because this will be the last moment I can walk around in public'.

"Because I had written the line, 'She got a light-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson/ Got a dark-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson'."

Ye explained it was after that he knew he 'wouldn't be able to walk the streets for the rest of [his] life'.

When questioned by Corden as to whether he was 'seriously' that 'confident' the 2003 song 'Slow Jamz' would do well, Ye responded: "In the success of that line.

"I was like, 'I will be famous after this line'."

'Slow Jamz' was first released in 2003 by Atlantic and Roc-A-Fella Records.

The hip-hop, pop-rap, R&B soul track is by American rapper Twista and features Jamie Foxx as well as Ye.

It was the first number one song for each member of the trio, peaking at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 soon after its release.

On the UK Singles Chart, it peaked at number three and on the US's end-of-the-year chart in 2004 it came in at 16th place.

In 2004, the song was nominated for Best Collaboration at the 4th BET Awards. In 2005 at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards it was put forward for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Alongside songs such as 'Gold Digger', 'Stronger', and 'Famous', 'Slow Jamz' is still widely seen as one of Ye's best hits to this day.

Rapper Kanye West has apparently shown his desire to be reunited with estranged wife Kim Kardashian during a second performance.

On Friday, December 10, West, now known as Ye, performed at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert with Drake in Los Angeles.

While performing in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the 44-year-old rapper repeated a line from a song in his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which alongside his admittance of his marital mistakes at a previous Thanksgiving event, seemingly confirmed his hopes to reunite with his wife.

The event also acted as a reunion between himself and Drake, who had previously been embroiled in a long-lasting feud, to raise ‘awareness of the need for prison and sentence reform’.

Outside of his Sunday Services and Donda listening events, it was the rapper’s first headline show in five years, The Independent reports. However, Ye’s declaration to Kardashian stole the show.

In his rendition of Runway, Ye repeated the phrase: ‘I need you to run right back to me.’ Adding to the end: ‘More specifically, Kimberly.’

The audience reportedly went wild upon hearing the declaration, which followed on from Ye’s previous statement, made at the Los Angeles Mission’s Thanksgiving Event in Skid Row on Wednesday, November 24.

Ye stated that he had ‘made mistakes’ and ‘publicly done things which were not acceptable as a husband’.

However, the Kardashian is rumoured to have moved on and to be dating comedian Pete Davidson, after the pair were seen getting cosy after they both performed in a skit on Saturday Night Live.
